"The Notebook"

The play's the thing, or rather the New Burbage Festival's often-hapless attempts to stage the Bard's classics - that's the main attraction. "Slings," which has given showcases to actors such as Rachel McAdams ("The Notebook"), Sarah Polley (the writer/director of "Away From Her") and Canadian stage legend William Hutt, is set in New Burbage's rehearsal spaces, offices and pubs. And no TV show has ever done a better job of demonstrating why otherwise sane people are willing to risk their relationships, their financial health and their sanity, all for the love of the theater.

Edwardsville goes Hollywood

Tim Robbins, Rachel McAdams and Michael Pena were among the hollywood greats in town to shoot two scenes for the film "The Return" this past summer. One scene was shot on Main Street and another inside Mojo's Music store downtown.
In hoping to get a glimpse of the stars appearing in the film, hundreds of people flocked downtown. The filming was expected to begin at 6 a.m. but when nothing happened, spectators stood around, watched and waited all day.
The stars spent part of the day idling inside the former Manhattan's Restaurant building.
By late afternoon, many fans were still waiting on the street in front of Mojo's and on the courthouse lawn.

Rachel McAdams, Helen Mirren stop to 'Play'

After loading up on actors including Brad Pitt, Edward Norton and Jason Bateman, the cast of "State of Play" has now expanded to include a trio of actresses.
The industry trade papers are reporting that Rachel McAdams, Robin Wright Penn and Oscar winner Helen Mirren will make up the distaff side of cast.
Kevin Macdonald ("The Last King of Scotland") is directing the film, which is set up at Universal. Paul Abbott scripted the original British miniseries, which directed by David Yates. ... Read More ...

JAMESON EYES UP MILLER + MCADAMS FOR BIOPIC

ContactMusic reports JENNA JAMESON is hoping Hollywood stars RACHEL MCADAMS and SIENNA MILLER will battle for the lead role in a movie about her life after SCARLETT JOHANSSON snubbed the part. Jameson is hoping to cast either Miller or MCAdams for the movie which charts her transformation from ballet dancer to stripper, before making it big in the adult film industry.
Johansson was Jameson's first choice for the part, but the actress turned down the role, citing she had "no interest in playing this role." But Jameson remains hopeful she will recruit a Hollywood beauty for the film, based on her bestselling autobiography, How To Make Love Like A Porn Star. She says, "I think Rachel MCAdams is amazing, and Sienna Miller."

Ron Livingston has joined Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams in the feature adaptation of "The Time Traveler's Wife."
Bana plays a dashing librarian at Chicago's Newberry Library who has a gene that causes him to involuntarily time travel. He must help his wife cope with the many complications of his disorder as the two are often out of sync.
